When the Fortnitemare 2024 update was released on 12th October, we got busy testing different weapons and items to craft a perfect loadout for the current phase of Fortnite. New weapons like the Chainsaw and Boom Billy were introduced, while some old favorites were unvaulted.
As we were experimenting with different loadouts with the War Maachine’s hover jet included (which remained the go-to mobility item), everything changed drastically when Update v31.40 dropped on October 14, 2024. Unfortunately, the hover jet was vaulted, which changed the whole gameplay style, as many players relied on it for mobility and had a significant advantage in fights.
So now after extensive testing with different loadouts, we came to the conclusion that this loadout below is one of the best for both build and no-build modes.

Why We Chose This Loadout for Fortnitemares 2024?
This loadout covers a wide range of situations in Fortnite, offering a balanced mix of mobility, long-range, mid-range, and close-range weapons. It is the most balanced loadout for both Build and No-Build modes during Fortnitemares 2024. Read till the end to know why and how to use it effectively.
Striker Burst Rifle

It’s a long-to-mid range 2-round burst rifle with an excellent accuracy, particularly on the first shot. Since the hover jet has been vaulted, its now easy to land both shots, giving 29-35 damage depending on the rarity of the weapon. Previously, this weapon wasn’t as effective against hover jet users.
Wood Stake Shotgun

It’s a slug-style shotgun that was added in the Fortnitemares 2023 last year. It shoots a wooden stake in slug style rather than the typical pellet spread of most shotguns. It comes in two rarities: rare and legendary, and has a headshot multiplier of 1.75x.
Chainsaw

The chainsaw is a powerful melee weapon that has been introduced in the Fortnitemares 2024. It features four different types of attacks which deals 75-85 damage to the enemies and 150 damage to the builds and structures. One of its standout abilities is its rush attack, which is also famous for mobility allowing players to move quickly while inflicting damage as well.
Shockwave Grenades

- Item Grade: Epic
- Use: Launch a player
- Max Stack: 6
These Grenades are utility items in Fortnite primarily used for mobility, allowing players to cover long distances quickly if used correctly. They can also knock back enemies and cars, making them useful for escaping dangerous situations or gaining an advantage in fights.
FlowBerry Fizz
Information
- Item Grade: Rare
- Shield Heals: 100%
- Benefit: Low Grav (10s)
A great healing plus mobility item that restores 100% of the shield on its full usage. While it takes about 2 seconds to activate, (which is a bit slower than some other quick healing items) its dual functionality as both a shield and mobility item makes it a valuable addition to any loadout.
How to play effectively with this Loadout?
Follow and practice these steps to master this loadout:
Step # 1 : Land at Brawlers Patch For Good Loot
Land in the location called Brawler’s Patch (which was previously known as Brawler’s Battleground), as this location contains most of the items for this loadout. You have to defeat the “Ultimate Carva” boss to obtain the Legendary Wood Stake Shotgun and other rare loot. You might also find the Chainsaw at this location.
Step # 2 : Use the Striker Burst Rifle for Long-Range Fights
For mid-to-long-range combat, equip the Striker Burst Rifle. Try to get a good scope and attachments from the bunker for this weapon so that you can do enough damage from long distances.
Step # 3 : Master the Wood Stake Shotgun for Mid-Range Kills
Use the Wood stake shotgun at close range but try not to get too close as this shotgun is more accurate at some range. The shotgun can kill in two precise hits, but if you miss and need to reload (and as this weapon takes time to reload), switch quickly to the Striker Burst Rifle for backup.
Step # 4 : Chainsaw for Close-Quarters Combat
When enemies get too close, use the Chainsaw to overwhelm them. With the Chainsaw we can also destroy the player’s build and other structures by holding down the aim button to use the rush attack. This weapon is very powerful for now (unless they nerf it), so take as much advantage as you can for now.
Step # 5 : The Two Mobility Items
Chainsaw can also be used as a mobility item by using the same rush attack to travel around the map quickly. However, using the chainsaw for escape makes you an easy target, which is why Shockwave Grenades are included in the loadout — to help you escape more efficiently or chase down enemies with speed.
Step # 6 : Flowberry Fizz and Shockwave Combo for Maximum Mobility
With the combination of Flowberry Fizz and shockwave grenade, mobility becomes very effective as you can travel longer distances and maintain a strong position in combat.
So with the new Fortnitemares 2024 update, new weapons and items have been introduced, and with the war machine’s hover jet being vaulted, it has opened the door to other mobility items. This shift also requires players to adjust their overall gameplay style. We believe the loadout above is one of the most balanced for this event, offering flexibility for mobility, long-range, and close-range combat, ensuring you’re ready for any situation.
