A dedicated hub to explore all the free Fortnite skins, cosmetics, and rewards. We’ve also added a bonus section highlighting some affordable skins from the Fortnite item shop, along with tips on earning free V-Bucks to purchase them
This page is regularly updated with every new free item available in Fortnite, along with detailed instructions on how to claim them.
Although Fortnite skins are typically obtained in the shop using V-Bucks, there are always free skins available that can be unlocked through specific actions or challenges.
Epic Games sometimes rewards players who aren’t able to buy V-Bucks or prefer not to spend money on skins. Regular players can often receive free skins and cosmetics by leveling up in a certain chapter, completing some challenges, or sometimes as gifts from Epic, which they can keep forever.

Check the skin cards below to find out how to acquire them.
As of December 2024, there are five free Fortnite skins that you can claim easily. For some, you would need some XP to level up and claim it, and for others, you need to do certain tasks in order to get it for free. We now have two new free skins that have been announced in the new Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1. One of these skins, called Mr. Dappermint, can be unlocked the same way as the Explorer Emilie outfit. Personally, I found it surprising that Mr. Dappermint is now free, considering I purchased the bundle during last Winterfest. While it’s great to see it being offered for free to everyone, I can’t help but wonder if Fortnite will compensate players like me who purchased it earlier.
Here are the 5 skins that are available to claim for free:

Even if we don’t get any free skins in the new update, we always receive some free cosmetics with each Fortnite update. We’ve compiled a list of all available free Fortnite cosmetics, including how to claim them and their expiry dates. This list is updated monthly to reflect expired items or newly announced ones. As a regular Fortnite player, I always try to unlock some of these cosmetics, as they add an exciting side goal to each match beyond just aiming for a Victory Royale.

You can earn some free V-Bucks to purchase affordable skins and cosmetics from the Fortnite store. There are a few ways that you can get free V-Bucks today. One of the most effective ways is by playing “Save the World” mode. However, this mode is not free-to-play, so you will need to buy it first. And once you own it, completing various missions and daily tasks within the mode can reward you with V-Bucks.
Other ways to earn V-Bucks completely for free include occasional login rewards which sometimes would include V-Bucks, as well as completing daily, side, and event quests in Battle Royale. While these V-Bucks are often not that much, consistent gameplay can help you accumulate a decent amount over time, and in a few months, you can buy some affordable skins and cosmetics without spending real money.
In fact, I know a friend who’s a hardcore Fortnite player and has never spent a dime on V-Bucks to this date. He consistently earns it for free through these methods, and when he’s saved up enough, he then goes to buy a cheap skin or cosmetic from the shop.
Fortnite often gives free rewards including skins, through various methods. Here are a few ways you can earn these rewards completely free. (Note: Some methods may not be currently active, but we’ll update this list as changes occur.)
The seasonal events and limited time quests often rewards players with free items, including cosmetics and skins.
You can participate in the tournaments to earn exclusive rewards which sometimes include skins.
Many Fortnite content creators on platforms like YouTube and Twitch host giveaways, offering free skins and items to their followers.
Sometimes Fortnite will launch a refer-a-friend campaign where inviting friends to play the game can earn you free rewards.
This option isn’t free, but it’s definitely worth the investment. If you subscribe to Fortnite Crew for £9.99 or $11.99 monthly, you will receive an exclusive outfit and a matching accessory every month. The subscription also includes 1,000 V-Bucks and access to the current Battle Pass (or its equivalent V-Bucks if you already own it).
Even if you cancel the subscription, you will retain the previously unlocked skins, v-bucks, and the battle pass. Additionally, with the V-Bucks earned through the Battle Pass, you can purchase more skins or even save up to buy the next season’s Battle Pass and then collect XP to unlock more skins.
Additionally, we also have covered the best loadouts in Fortnite and we update it with each new chapter or season release. If you’re looking to try some of our favorite weapon loadouts for the current season, be sure to check them out as well!
